Former fast-food worker spills the beans on how to get the 'freshest burger and fries'

A former McDonald's worker has revealed the surprising reason customers should always ask for a receipt when ordering their meal.

Kamran Adan said he worked at different McDonald's stores across London for a year when sharing the hot tip on how to get the freshest meal.

Mr Adan explained on Quora that workers would always prioritise those who ask for a receipt in case they were mystery shoppers.

He said in the UK, the secret shoppers would usually come between 12-2pm and 5-7pm – known as "Gapbuster Times."

The mystery shoppers are paid to visit different stores and rate their experiences.

"This then goes to the overall store rating and every store manager will do everything to ensure this rating is as positive as possible," he said.

"It is easy to spot a Gapbuster because they always ask for a receipt (so they can get their food costs reimbursed by the company employing them)."

Mr Adan claims anyone who asks for a receipt is destined to get the "freshest burger and fries".
