Father accused of leaving boy in hot car 'while he went to the pub'

A father will face court accused of leaving his three-year-old son in a sweltering car while he went to the pub.

Police were called to the Hume Highway at Yagoona, in Sydney's southwest, on Saturday after members of the public saw the toddler in the vehicle.

After breaking into the car to free the little boy, officers went to the family's address where they found a two-year-old home alone.
