Hilarious video shows Irish dad trying to catch a bat with a towel
A video of an Irish father trying to catch a stray bat with a tea-towel - as his excitable son eggs him on - has gone viral on social media.
The hilarious video sees hapless dad Derry trying desperately to catch a bat that has flown into the family kitchen while his son, Tadhg Fleming, films the event and shouts words of encouragement.
Derry runs around the kitchen, standing on kitchen chairs, trying to capture the elusive creature with a humble tea-towel.
Between laughter and shrieks, Tadhg yells out, "Come on Derry, catch him! You're going to need a bigger towel. That's it, get him now!"
At one point a ghostly face appears at the kitchen door, which turns out to be Tadhg's mother.
"Mum, will you stop looking in the door!", Tadhg shouts.
Meanwhile, the excitement causes the family dog to urinate in a corner of the kitchen.
As the tussle between man and bat continues, Derry's son shouts, "You're doing great! Nearly! Nearly! He's like McGregor, he's got no legs left!"
He is referring, of course, to Irish UFC star-turned boxer Conor McGregor's recent loss to Floyd Mayweather.
Finally, Derry manages to shoo the bat out - and dusts his hands with a look of great self-satisfaction on his face.
