Family desperate to find Aussie missing in London after attacks

There are serious concerns for a missing Queensland woman feared to be among the victims of the London terror attacks.

Sara Zelenak, 21, was separated from her friends on Saturday night.

Her family have said she is usually in contact with them and her friends in Australia on a regular basis, but no one has heard from her since the attack.

Fairfax Media has reported that Ms Zelanak became separated from her friends on London Bridge when a van hit a number of pedestrians just after 10pm on Saturday.

Her friends in London are reportedly working with authorities to find her.

It is believed she may have dropped her phone while fleeing the scene.

Ms Zalanak works as a nanny in London and is known to call her mother in Brisbane every day.

News Corp has reported that Julie Wallace, Sara’s mother, was leaving Australia from London “first thing in the morning” to find her daughter.

It follows a meeting she reportedly had on Monday in Brisbane with Australian terror police.

Ms Zelenak’s step-father, Mark Wallace, said the family was struggling.

“I feel terrible, I can’t think,” he told News Corp.

“Authorities in London can’t give any information, they are in a terror lockdown, so there’s just no ability to find out or get any information... She’s been gone for 48 hours and no one has seen or heard from her.”

Sam Hetherington, who is one of Ms Zelenak's best friends, said she hadn’t been in contact with any of her friends or family.

“If you or anyone is in London and see this lovely face or knows any information of her whereabouts please message Julie Wallace or even myself to pass on to Julie so we know she is safe,” Ms Hetherington posted on Facebook.

A Facebook post written by a family titled: “Missing from London Terror attack” has been shared 500 times.

"Dear friends please can I ask you to share this post. My friend's daughter, Sara Zelenak, was last seen on London Bridge and was witness to the terror attacks," the post reads.

"She got separated from her friends and has not been seen since. Her phone has rang with no reply and now the battery must have gone.

"She is Australian aged 21 with long blonde hair. She calls her mum daily. It's been over 24 hours with no news from the consulate. We were hoping the 3rd Australian reported would be her, but it's not.

"She is based in London. Please share with as many people as possible especially if you have friends down south. Thank you for your help."
