WATCH: Dramatic police rescue of drowning boy trapped under jetty

Video has emerged of the moment a police officer and a fire fighter dived under a jetty to save a trapped boy at Lake June, Florida.

Lake Placid Police officer David Rhoden’s bodycam captured the rescue as he and fire fighter Rafael Ramos saved the boy on May 22.

Ramos is seen sticking his arm under the jetty frantically searching for the child.

The men are heard lifting the jetty to pull the boy to safety.

“Come on over here and help us keep it up,” Officer Rhoden says.

“This side, this side. Help us out on this side.”

The men are heard struggling to lift the jetty to free the boy but somehow he gets to safety.

“He’s out, he’s out,” Officer Rhoden says.

The group confirm no one else was trapped under there with him and all walk to shore.

Officer Rhoden speaks to the fire department afterwards to follow up.

“You’re wet,” one of the fire fighters says with a laugh.

“I’m going home, all I heard was ‘kid pinned under',” Officer Rhoden responds.

“And I was like, 'it’s on'.”

Officer Rhoden believes the boy swam under the jetty intentionally.

One of the fire fighters says they were lucky the boy was able to keep his head above water.

It’s not known what condition the boy is currently in.
