News presenter in tears as she breaks news she has been sacked
An Israeli news presenter has fought back tears after revealing the immediate cancellation of her show.
Channel One News Anchor Geula Even has been praised after bravely revealing that she and her colleagues had lost their jobs after Israel Broadcasting Authority (IBA) chose to cease operations effective immediately.
“Actually, tonight will be our last news program,” Ms Even said.
“This is our last edition. So the rest of this program is irrelevant.
“I do want to thank all these people who worked here all these years, this has been my professional home for many years.
“I had many difficult moments here but a lot of great ones and at the end of the day a lot of people are going to lose their jobs.
Other networks and presenters were quick to condemn the state-run IBA network for their hasty decision, showing a rare moment of compassion for those once considered rivals.
