Suspicious package investigated outside Queensland Police Academy

Emergency crews set up an exclusion zone around the Queensland Police Academy in Brisbane after a man found suspicious chemicals in a shed and drove them to the station to seek help with disposal.

Once officers were aware of the potentially harmful chemicals, the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called.

Crews were seen examining a blue bucket in the tray of the vehicle on Thursday afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service said scientific officers and firefighters attended the scene alongside police.

Queensland Police confirmed that staff were able to continue working after the matter was confirmed to be non-threatening.
