Alleged kidnap victim found bound and hooded on Sydney street

An alleged victim of a kidnapping was found bound with a bag over his head after he was dumped on the streets of Sydney just metres from his home.

Paramedics mysteriously found Sung Sub Kim hooded and alone on a street in Strathfield early Wednesday morning.

The 47-year-old was later released from Concord Hospital and is now being questioned by detectives, who are trying to figure out if he is the victim of a crime or involved in one.

On January 3, CCTV captured a car driving in the La Perouse area before doing a U-Turn.

The vehicle then headed toward two dark figures who were standing on the street, before it took off.

Another car approached the area soon after and the driver of the second vehicle pulled over and called police.

NSW Police said Mr Kim had been reported missing in La Perouse at 9:30pm.

Three hours later he was dumped on the side of Dean Street, just 200m from his home.

Police are trying to ascertain whether the kidnapping warrants a legitimate investigation, or whether it's staged.

Mr Kim and his son were charged over a Baulkham Hills home invasion in May 2016 and are to face Parramatta court next month.

It is understood the victim owes someone money.
