'You're a dirty rock spider': Self-titled 'pedo hunter' films confrontation with man at shopping centre after Facebook conversation

Self-proclaimed "Coffs Coast Pedo Hunter" has released footage on YouTube of himself in confrontation with a man he claims is a pedophile.

Published on Tuesday morning, the video initially shows screenshots of a Facebook conversation allegedly between the 'Pedo Hunter' and another man.

In the conversations, the 'Pedo Hunter' pretends to be an underage girl while chatting with the man.

"What would we do?" the 'Pedo Hunter' asks.

"I will teach you what ever you would like to know," the man replies before listing a number of sexual acts he wanted to get the young girl "ready for".

"How do u do that?" the 'Pedo Hunter' responds.

'Come in tomorrow n I will show you everything," the man replies.

"U want me to come in but wot u wanna do where u wanna hang," the 'Pedo Hunter' asks.

"Iv gota get back to school to catch the bus back in th arvo."

The video then cuts to show the 'Pedo Hunter' approaching a man at a shopping centre, accusing him of being the person he engaged with in the graphic Facebook conversation.

The man denies he is the person in the conversation, saying his name is 'James'.

"Why don't you show me some ID then?" the 'Pedo Hunter' asks.

"I don't have to show you nothing," the man replies.

"It just happens though, that you look a lot like the person I was talking to online," the 'Pedo Hunter' retaliates.

Screenshots of the conversation show the man saying he would be recognisable by his Holden t-shirt.

"You said you were going to be wearing a Holden shirt," the 'Pedo Hunter' points out on camera.

"So I'm the only guy that's going to be wearing a Holden shirt?" the man argues. "Stop following me."

"C'mon lad," the 'Pedo Hunter' urges. "Big burly fella like yourself can't just walk away. If you weren't guilty you would have turned around and arced up cause I called you a pedophile. You're just dirty f******g scum."

The 'Pedo Hunter' follows the man through a parking lot, past a series of shops and towards a street.

"Watch out! Pedophile coming through!" the 'Pedo Hunter' shouts as the man prepares to cross the road.

"Stand on the road and get run over," he urges as the man dodges traffic. "Do the world a favour, you rock spider."

The man then climbs over a fence on the middle of the traffic island.

The 'Pedo Hunter' starts to run, trying to catch up with him.

"Where are you going big fella?" the 'Pedo Hunter' asks, climbing over the fence after him before oncoming traffic forces him to cut the footage.

It's not the first time the 'Pedo Hunter' has filmed those he believes are pedophiles after conversations he's had with them online.

Three other videos also feature on his YouTube channel, including "Pedo Hunter meets a Sandy Beach predator", "D***** from Moonee came to meet a 14 year old girl" and "Pedo M**** from Fredo drove to Coffs to meet who he thought was a 14-year-old girl but instead met me".

In the description of his videos, the 'Pedo Hunter' claims he was once sent numerous pictures of a sexual nature from one man.

"He also asked very sexual questions also said what he wanted to do to the girl when they meet," the 'Pedo Hunter' wrote.

Speaking to the Coffs Coast Advocate on September 8, the 'Pedo Hunter' responded to police criticism regarding his vigilante activity.

He told the news outlet that he had sent screenshots of his conversations with other men to police.

The man behind the 'Coffs Coast Pedo Hunter!!' account told the Advocate he poses as an underage girl on numerous dating websites in an attempt to snare alleged offenders.

Earlier, the Coffs Local Area Command Crime Manager Detective Inspector Darren Jameson told the Advocate that police had spoken with the person behind the footage.

"I am aware of the video footage and I have viewed it but I am not aware of any other evidence as outlined by the person recording the video," Inspector Jameson said.

"The actions of community members in being vigilantes against crimes, even those that are highly deplorable like sexual assault, cannot be supported."

He also warned that those responsible could even find themselves in trouble under the law.

"Any vigilante action of persons who have no concept of how to produce admissible evidence in court could leave that person open to criticism or civil action," he said.

Comments on the latest video have been scathing.

"You good man you just saved some young girl's life," Sonya McAndrew wrote.

"Good job man," Alicia Louise wrote.

"Need more people like you to stomp this sickos out of society where they are truly not welcome. Keep up the awesome work ."
