Going potty: Man falls down toilet chasing smart phone then gets stuck

Whoever potty-trained this man failed dismally.

A 20-year-old man has fallen into a toilet during a desperate bid to retrieve his runaway mobile.

Talk about an addiction to technology leaving you down in the dumps.

Cato Bernsten Larsen, from a small town in Norway, was able to successfully climb into the lavatory, however sadly became stuck in the muck and wasn’t able to climb out.

"First we tried to get the phone with a stick but that didn't work. So I jumped in," he told local news agency VG explaining exactly what occurred.

"I was down there an hour, I was panicking," he said, adding there were "animals" crawling on his body.

According to reports, Larsen became overwhelmed by nausea and vomiting as he tried to unsuccessfully free himself from the loo.

VG reports that the outhouse is only emptied once a year.

Larsen eventually decided to get in contact with the local fire brigade to assist in his rescue.

"It was a fairly easy task for us. We sent a four-man crew with a chainsaw and they cut open the front of the [plastic] toilet," fire brigade spokeswoman Tina Brock said according to the ABC.

Unsurprisingly this kind of rescue was a first of it’s kind for the local fire brigade Brock said according to online reports.

"It was pretty full down there," she added.

Sadly the phone was not recovered during the dramatic rescue mission.

No word on how many showers Larsen had following the stinky incident, however we’re guessing it’s a few.
