Chiropractor pleads guilty to 'vulgar' racist rant on Facebook aimed at Nova Peris

A chiropractor who claimed he had been hacked after a vicious racial attack aimed at a Labor senator was posted on his Facebook account has pleaded guilty.

Christopher Nelson has admitted to using Facebook to post abusive comments about retiring Labor senator Nova Peris.

On May 28, the former Liberal member sent Nova Peris a direct message on Facebook calling her "black c***" and telling her to "go back to the bush."

Detectives were made aware of the posts and arrested the 64-year-old man in Woy Woy the following Monday before charging him with using a carriage service to cause offence.

At the time the Central Coast chiropractor claimed he was the victim of an “extremely vicious” Facebook hack attack and became aware of the posts on Saturday evening.

“I found out about this about 5.30 on Saturday afternoon when Facebook sent me a notification that someone had spammed my account," the chiropractor said.

“I was clearly hacked. I’m the victim of a really horrible and extremely vicious hacking.”

A Liberal Party spokeswoman confirmed last month that Nelson had been expelled from the party.

One of two racist messages that were sent from the account read: "Nova F*** off. You were only endorsed by Juliar(sic) because you were a black c***."

"Go back to the bush and suck on witchity grubs and yams. Stop painting your f***ing face with white s*** in parliament."

"Other than being a runner you are nothing."

Ms Peris responded to the remarks and said she would leave the comment on her page "to show the ugly side of this country."

The malicious comments continued and another racist rant was posted from Nelson's account that said the former Senator would have been "raped by her own father."

"Why don't you go and spend some time at Arrakun with the rest of your a** mates belting the crap out of one another," he wrote.

"I am not sorry for what has happened in the past if it wasn't for the non existent stolen generation you would probably have been raped by your father another male relative or worse still been killed."

"So as I've said before f*** off you black c*** we don't need or want you."

The chiropractor received community awards as a Rotarian over two decades.

Rotary Down Under took to Twitter and apologised on behalf of the club over Nelson's comments.

"Hi Nova we just wanted to apologise to you," the tweet read. "Chris is an ex member of Rotary & his horrible comments do not represent us."
