Shocking new report claims Pistorius 'bashed Reeva with a cricket bat' before shooting her dead

Startling new evidence released by a pair of forensic experts has claimed Oscar Pistorius beat his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp with a cricket bat before shooting her dead.

The Paralympian, 29, has stuck to his story of self-defence, saying he believed his lover to be an intruder when he fired four shots through the toilet door, fatally wounding her.

But two brothers, Calvin and Thomas Mollett, believe Pistorius isn’t telling the whole story.

After examining evidence and conducting their own tests and experiments, the scientists have concluded that Ms Steenkamp was bashed with a blunt weapon before her death.

Two injuries on the 29-year-old model’s back are consistent with the end of a cricket bat, the brothers revealed in their new book Oscar vs The Truth.

If correct, their theory will add weight to the prosecution’s version of events; that Ms Steenkamp had locked herself into the toilet cubicle after a late night altercation with Pistorius and he had then intentionally fired shots through the door at her.

Accounts from neighbours also claim they heard shouting from the apartment in Pretoria, South Africa, before the shots were fired.

Pistorius, on the other hand, claimed he had used the bloodied bat to knock down the door once he realised it was his partner inside the bathroom.

On Valentine’s Day 2013, Pistorius managed to avoid a murder charge and was instead found guilty of manslaughter.

The prosecution decided to appeal the conviction and it was upgraded to murder where, if found guilty, he could face up to 15 years behind bars.

He has already served one year at Kgosi Mampuru II prison in Pretoria.

Currently, he is serving the rest of his five-year house arrest sentence at his uncle’s home.

Pistorius will front court in June for sentencing.

Earlier this week, his supporters gathered outside the courthouse to pray for the athlete.

The leader of the support group, Don Hassett, believes the media is on a hate-campaign against Pistorius and has appealed for a lighter sentence for him.
