“As soon as I smelled the sausage sizzle, I was like: ‘Oh my god sausage sizzle, f*** yeah, f***ing great!’”

He shares his devotion to the weekend delight with Melbourne International Comedy Festival audiences during his new show Chorizo Sizzle.

A clip of Aristeguieta’s side-splitting performance embracing the snag was posted on the comedian’s Facebook page a week ago, and has already been viewed more than 700,000 times, with more than 12,000 giving the video a thumbs up while licking their lips in appreciation.

In the video, he points out that all the goodness can be ours for a handful of spare change.

“I love paying with coins. When I pay with coins I don’t feel I’m giving away money, I’m just paying with coins! So you go to a sausage sizzle you get rid of your coins and they give you a sausage FOR FREE!”

The comedian says the point of the onions is just to entice the senses, urging sizzlers to “burn them and they will come”.

Although he can’t comprehend why we don’t use hot dog buns to wrap our snags.

“You don't care about the bread... The bread is just a serviette you can eat’,” he says in his rant.

But we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Many sausage sizzle enthusiasts have commented that the beloved barbecue is the only reason they visit the hardware warehouse.

Ivan Aristeguieta is performing his Chorizo Sizzle at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival until April 17, before heading to the Sydney Comedy Festival until April 24.
