Car slingshots through air in terrifying 'hit and run' caught on dashcam
Two Canberra cars were left shattered after a reckless driver tried to speed past a turning vehicle in a shocking moment captured on dashcam.
In the video, a GPS instructs the driver to make a U-turn into Wattle Street.
The Holden SV6 Commodore driver slows down and indicates for three seconds before a silver car comes out of nowhere and attempts to speed past the turning vehicle.
The speeding Ford Falcon slingshots through the air, revealing a massive gash on its left side before completing a full 360-degree turn.
Bits of scrap metal fly off both cars after the impact. The Ford drives off into the distance, fleeing the scene.
John sent the video to Dashcam Owners Australia claiming the 'hit and run' incident happened just before 11pm on February 25.
The user said his brother-in-law was the victim of the crash and the car ended up being a 'complete write off'.
He also claims the Ford was stolen and the car was found burnt out two days later.
