Brave mum frees son after finding him covered in blood with a python coiled around him in bed

WARNING - GRAPHIC: A man has told of the harrowing moment he helped a mother save her son from a giant python, which coiled itself around the little boy's body and sank its fangs into his head while he was sleeping.

Brady, a family friend, was called to the home after mum Tammy found her son covered in blood with a snake wrapped his body, unable to move.

The three-metre python had crawled its way up to little Tyler's bunk bed and slithered its way beneath his sheets in the Macksville home last Thursday night.

“It was dark when I walked into the room and had to use a torch to find him,” Brady said.

Tammy reached up to pull her son from the snake's grip, but he wouldn't budge.

Her motherly instinct kicked in when she was forced to roll Tyler from the feet out of the snake's grip before it slithered to the bed head.

Brady said that Tammy then ran out of the room with her terrified son, who was taken to hospital that night with bite marks on his head and hand.

Brady managed to get the dangerous snake out of little Tyler's room.

"The snake was hiding from us on top of one of the cupboards... so I tipped toed over the cupboard and found the snake looking straight at us."

He told Yahoo7 that he isn't a snake expert, but if it was hungry 'it could of eaten their house pet, not Tyler'.

"I find it weird and distressing, I hope there is another reason for it (the snake attacking Tyler)."

Brady said Tyler was safe and sound in his home on the Monday night and "didn't lose a wink of sleep".

This is far from the first time a snake has been close to hurting an Aussie after making its way into a home.
