Police investigating 50-person brawl in Parramatta
FIRST ON 7: A wild street brawl involving about 50 people broke out in Parramatta on Tuesday afternoon and is currently being investigated by police.
The violence spilled across the streets of Parramatta just as peak hour traffic was beginning to build.
Stunned witnesses captured the shocking moment on camera revealing numerous punches being thrown and groups clashing at 5.10pm to O'Connell Street.
Cars can be seen grinding to a halt in Parramatta's CBD right in the middle of peak hour as the 50-person brawls spills out on to the road.
"OMG. This is so scary man," one witness can be heard saying in the recording.
"Look at them they're just walking in front of cars. They don't care," the witness can be heard saying as the mob move down then street.
In nearby office blocks work stops more and more people rushed to the windows to catch a glimpse of the melee playing out in the street below.
"People fighting over the top of cars and what not," a witness told 7 News.
"We were a bit worried, we were wondering when the cops were going to turn up."
But authorities were not far away and rushed to the scene, quickly breaking up the fight and moving the brawling teens off the road.
"Police immediately attended and spoke to a number of teenage males before dispersing the crowd," NSW Police said in a statement.
"None of the teens present at the scene appeared to be injured.
"Witness reports suggest dozens of teens were at the location however it is not yet clear how many were directly involved in the fight."
Officers from the Parramatta Local Area Command are now making inquiries into the matter.
Officers are investigating but at this stage no-one has been arrested or reported injured.
The violent melee comes just one week after a brawl erupted in a Sydney school.
Police have since charged two teenagers after an all-in brawl between dozens of high school girls, allegedly wielding knives, baseball bats and meat cleavers, was live-streamed on social media.
The violent display took place shortly after the students, believed to be from a school in Campbelltown, left class at 5pm on February 10
