The 41-year-old was last week filmed in a dramatic confrontation with her former partner Ashley Crick.

The actor, who played Danni Stark in the popular sitcom, took her son from Mr Crick, the child's father, with the assistance of two large, tattooed men who work for an agency which helps parents take back their children during custody battles.

Initial reports suggested Ms Szonert was in Malaysia to visit Mr Crick but had become stranded after being thrown out of a his home after an argument.

But, the Daily Mail now claims she had been in the country since August when she flew there with Mr Crick and their son. She booked into the clinic in Thailand during a holiday, whereupon Mr Crick returned to Malaysia with the child.

After leaving the clinic, Ms Szonert returned to live with Mr Crick in Malaysia but was ordered out of his home on November 14 after what has been described as a 'violent incident'.

The agency which assisted Ms Szonert in taking the child, Child Recovery Australia, told the site Ms Szonert had sought treatment in Thailand for depression.

Video emerged last week of Ms Szonert and two large Australian men taking the child from Mr Crick as the two ate at a restaurant in Kuala Lumpur.

As the two men approached the father, Ms Szonert took the child and escaped.

She later issued a statement reading: "Safely recovered my child".
