Santa brings the Christmas spirit to boy with autism

Santa put the magic back into Christmas for a boy with autism by getting onto his level after he refused to sit on his lap.

Brayden's parents were at Caring Santa event in North Carolina, US when Santa didn't say a word and creeped onto the ground and began playing with Brayden with the stuffed animal he brought.

"We would not have Santa pictures otherwise," said Erin Deely, Brayden's mum.

The heartwarming photo was posted to Autism Speaks Facebook - who host the event giving children who are affected by Autism the chance to experience that special moment with Santa.

“So this compassionate, and not so young, Santa got down on the floor and came to the boy,” Autism Speaks wrote on Facebook.

Caring Santa even gives each child 15 - 20 minutes of one-on-one time with Mr. Clause.

A member of Autism Speaks, Maeghan Pawley said that when the time came for Brayden to meet Santa his parents were unable to convince him to sit on Santa's lap.

"Social situations get very difficult for him so having the ability for us to come in and set up an appointment and give him an experience of a typical child is huge for him and huge for us," said Dan Deely, Brayden's dad.

Brayden's mum commented that he doesn't like posing for photos and said "this Santa was perfect."
