Pictures of boy on dog leash spark outrage
A mum has asked for forgiveness after posting shocking pictures of her son on social media crawling on the floor like a dog with a leash attached to his neck.
Ayra dela Cruz Francisco’s son has been taken into protective custody after the pictures were shared 28,000 times on Facebook.
She could reportedly be charged with child abuse after she said a relative put the shoelace round the little boy’s neck and he began copying their pet dogs, reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
The incident sent shockwaves through the Philippines and police decided to track down the mother from her location on Facebook.
The pictures come just days after Dan Bilzerian slammed Australia’s 'Candyman' Travers Beynon for photos of him walking his wife on a dog lead around their $3.7 million Gold Coast mansion.
The self-titled Candyman is known for posting scandalous images on Instagram, usually from one of his lavish house parties or of his extensive car collection.
But Bilzerian, who made headlines around the world for throwing a naked porn star off a roof, says Beynon's latest snaps went too far.
On her Facebook page she asked for forgiveness and said the villagers believe she is a ‘caring mother’.
Social Welfare Secretary Corazon Soliman said: “The child does not know that it is just a joke.
“No one has the right to treat a child like a toy. Whoever does this can be punished under the law.”
News Corp reports that the mum and son are undergoing psychological testing.
