A Melbourne nurse is pursuing legal recourse after she tripped over a tyre during a bootcamp session with a local gym.

Kathleen McLaren, 55, is suing her fitness trainers at Body Revival Health and Fitness centre in Epping for the incident, which happened in July last year.

The Herald Sun reports the tyre was a corner-point in an exercise course and Ms McLaren was walking around it at the time she tripped.

She claims to have injured her elbows and has suffered psychologically due to the injury. She says she has suffered stress, anxiety and depression. She is also seeking damages for loss of wages as she was unable to work due to her injuries.

According to a writ filed in the Victorian County Court, Ms McLaren claims her fitness instructors were negligent by failing to clear the area of "hazards" and not properly supervising the bootcamp.

Body Revival commented publicly on the case.
