Man killed, four injured in Victorian water skiing races
Three serious water skiing accidents on the Murray River on the NSW/Victorian border have left a man dead and four others with neck and spinal injuries.
The accidents happened on Sunday afternoon at the annual Southern 80 water skiing event.
The man who died was given CPR on the riverbank but was unable to be revived.
A man in his 20s was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition with head and spinal injuries and a woman, also in her 20s, has been airlifted to Bendigo Hospital with a neck injury.

Another two people - a man in his 40s with rib and shoulder injuries and another man in his 20s with serious head and spinal injuries - were taken to Echuca Hospital by road, an ambulance spokesman said.
Ski Racing Australia confirmed the event had been suspended due to the accidents.
"SRA and the Moama Water Sports Club are, and will continue, to work with race organisers and relevant authorities to ensure those who require it receive appropriate care," it said in a statement.
"At this stage it is too early to provide any specific details about the incidents or any of the participant's condition."
