Dockers punt on Power discard
Fremantle have sprung a surprise in this morning's rookie draft, selecting 23-year-old former Port Adelaide midfielder Nick Lower.
The Dockers have enjoyed great success with mature aged rookies in recent years and also chose 19-year-old Gavin Roberts from South Australia.

Lower played 20 games for the Power before getting delisted and he played for Norwood in 2010. Originally a second round draft pick, he will add maturity to the team and is capable of playing in defence or the midfield.
Roberts has been training with the Dockers and the club was urged to pick him by Norwood coach Nathan Bassett.
West Coast added Claremont key forward Anton Hamp and then added another Tiger to the list when they selected Jeremy McGovern.
Fremantle redrafted Tim Ruffles and Ben Bucovaz while the Eagles re-installed Tim Houlihan to their list.
The rookie draft again proved to be a boon for the WAFL with 13 players chosen.
Greater Western Sydney chose East Fremantle forward Rhys Cooyou and Swan Districts excitement machine Isiah Stevens.
Hawthorn chose Shark Sam Menegola, Melbourne snared Claremont's Michael Evans, then the Western Bulldogs picked up East Fremantle's Jason Johannissen.
South Fremantle's Warrick Andreoli is now a St Kilda player, Peel's Kelvin Lawrence is now a Demon and Carlton chose mature aged Swan Districts player Wayde Twomey.
Port Adelaide gave Perth's Jarrad Irons a chance and Collingwood continued East Fremantle's big day with Jack Perham chosen at pick 58. South Fremantle's Mitch Carter became a Blue with pick 66.
