Police believe thieves stole thousands of dollars of jewellery during a ram-raid at Australind Shopping Centre early this morning.

The offenders drove a four-wheel-drive into the shopping centre and then broke into Australind Jewellers at 3:15am.

South West Detectives officer-in-charge Det-Sen. Sgt Dom Blackshaw said the offenders nudged the doors to the shopping centre off the tracks then smashed the jewellery shop’s window to get in.

Detectives are looking for a late model red or maroon, two-tone Mitsubishi Pajero with spotlights and an aluminium bull bar.

Det-Sen. Sgt Dom Blackshaw said police were still establishing how much jewellery was taken but it was expected to be in the thousands of dollars.

“They cleared out the shop, basically everything that was on display was stolen,” he said.

Detectives are using CCTV footage, which showed three male offenders exit the car while the driver stayed inside.

Owner Diana Gell was at the store as repairs were being done this afternoon.

“I just hope they rot,” she said.

An employee at a nearby store in the shopping centre said the burglary had disrupted their work.

“We’re concerned due to the loss of business because of these guys,” she said.
