Linda Evangelista heads to Australia

One of the world's first supermodels Linda Evangelista will be in Australia next week.

Evangelista will be a mentor and judge on Fox8's Australia's Next Top Model, which recently also filmed an episode with iconic designer, Jean Paul Gaultier.

Host Jennifer Hawkins said she was thrilled to have Evangelista on board as a guest judge.

"She's an icon in the modelling industry and a personal favourite of mine - I'm so excited to have her on the show, our girls are going to learn so much from her," Hawkins said.

Evangelista was at the height of her fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s and was referred to as one of the world's supermodels, along with Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington and Australian Elle Macpherson.

The 49-year-old is known for once saying she wouldn't get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day.

The Canadian beauty will also appear at Foxtel's annual Upfront media event on Thursday next week.
