Charlie Sheen declares war on ex-wife

Actor Charlie Sheen has declared war on his ex-wife Brooke Mueller and the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services in his latest outburst in the couple's bitter custody battle.

The actor told TMZ.com he would continue to fight for full custody of the couple's twin sons Bob and Max.

His comments followed Mueller's unsuccessful attempt on Monday to obtain a restraining order against the former Two And A Half men star.

Referencing his father Martin Sheen's 1979 film Apocalpyse Now, Sheen said: "I am beyond their timid lying morality, therefore I am beyond caring."

He added he was "battling an amorphous enemy that needs to be swiftly disempowered".

"These crimes against my children will be exposed," he said.

"These war criminals will be hanged at dusk to a cheering and jeering crowd ... The storm is brewing. Their roofs are leaking. I am the tsunami your mommy warned you about your whole childhood. All of you renegade deplorable pigs are marked for slaughter."

Mueller and Sheen separated in 2010 after two years of marriage, but Mueller lost custody of the children in May this year after overdosing on crystal methamphetamine.

She was placed on involuntary psychiatric hold, and the boys were put in the custody of Sheen's ex-wife, actor Denise Richards, but Mueller is now seeking full custody.

Richards recently informed the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) that she can no longer care for the boys.

On Monday Mueller sought to secure a temporary restraining order from a Los Angeles court to prohibit Sheen from coming near her. A judge denied Mueller's request and instead set a hearing in December for the former couple to return to court.

Sheen has also fired off a series of Twitter posts directed at Mueller.

On Tuesday he tweeted: "Oh, by the way, nice try this morning Brooke. You are a chubby weirdo who will lose at every turn trying to get between me and my boys."
