Cop shoots dog at Maddington house

Police are investigating an incident during which an officer shot an attacking dog in Maddington.

Two general duties officers, understood to be a man and a woman, were called to a home on Westfield Street about 12.40pm on Friday after reports of a domestic incident.

When they arrived, a dog on the property alleg-edly tried to attack the female officer, so her male colleague shot the dog.

The police officer was not injured in the attack.

Internal affairs officers have been notified but are not believed to be the lead investigators on the investigation.
