Body found in search for dragon boat paddler missing on Gold Coast
The body of a female paddler has been found in Currumbin Creek, following the disappearance of a 50-year-old woman who fell out of a dragon boat on the Gold Coast.
Police, including divers, Volunteer Marine Rescue and lifeguards searched for woman throughout the night after she fell into the Currumbin Creek Waterway at Elanora about 6.45pm on Thursday.
Water police say at the time there were no signs that she'd fallen out of the vessel.
Senior Sergeant Ben Martain said, "There were a total of 16 ladies on board the boat at the time and certainly comes as a shock to those ladies to have one of their team members disappear in these circumstances."

Queensland police say the other 15 female paddlers in the boat were not physically injured during the incident.
"On police arrival there were a number of members of the public and a number of the members of the dragon boat crew who were conducting their own searches," said Senior Sergeant Ben Martain.
"Certainly all members of the crew were very concerned about their missing team member."
Authorities will now prepare a report for the coroner.
Investigations are continuing.
