Family escape serious injury after Sydney truck crash

A woman and her two daughters have escaped serious injury after their car was struck by a truck this morning in Sydney's north.

The truck was loaded with plasterboard and crashed into several cars and a boat at around 7:30am this morning in Cottage Point.

The truck then rolled onto its side and hit a house on Cottage Point Road.

One of the girls was taken to hospital with a suspected broken hand after she was pinned between the boat and a vehicle.

Her mother and sister were also taken to hospital to be assessed.

It's believed the three were getting into one of the cars when it was struck by the truck.

The truck driver is uninjured and there is a fourth person with injuries that are being assessed.

A Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) heavy vehicle inspector has been called to the scene to conduct a mechanical examination.
