State's 'most wanted' charged over hog-tie murder

A man is due to face court today charged with the murder of a Newcastle man who was found half-naked and hog-tied on a cricket field.

Anthony Richard Dent, 53, was arrested and charged with the murder of 52-year-old Anthony 'Tony' Thomas O'Grady.

Police said inquiries led them to Spencer Street at Cessnock where Dent was arrested around 3.15pm yesterday.

He was charged with murder and will front Newcastle Local Court later today.

Dent was placed on the NSW 'Most Wanted' list following a bizarre day at the state's corruption inquiry (ICAC) two-and-a-half weeks ago.

Serial pest Peter Hore, who lived with murder victim Anthony 'Tony' Thomas O'Grady, was charged after he stormed into the Independent Commission Against Corruption in Sydney on Castlereagh Street on Friday 4 April.

He burst into the hearing room at about 11.15am and charged towards the witness box, before he was physically restrained.

Hore was heard screaming about his murdered housemate. "We're the second coming," he also yelled as he was led away by security.

"Stop trying to assault me ... don't try to break my wrist."

A police officer was injured during the scuffle that left him bleeding from the head, and was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment.

Hore has since been charged with assaulting an officer, offensive conduct and actual bodily harm.

Dressed in a T-shirt bearing the letters "WTF", Hore told reporters "I was only trying to introduce myself".

ICAC Commissioner Megan Latham called a half-hour adjournment saying a number of staff who are "quite traumatised" by the violent outburst.

A morning dog walker made the grisly discovery at the Thomas Armstrong Oval at Wickham in Newcastle on Wednesday March 26.

The oval, part of Wickham Park, is neighboured by industrial businesses and a residential street, near Newcastle's CBD.

News Corp reported that the man was found lying face down in the grass, naked from the pants down, with his hands tied.
