'Seen it all': Driver busted watching porn behind the wheel

The promiscuous driver shocked police who handed down more than $1000 in fines

Australian police promised to crack down on texting drivers this year, so when a Victorian man was caught watching porn behind the wheel, they weren’t thrilled.

The distracted 50-year-old driver was spotted driving along the Monash Freeway about 5.30am on 23 November with his phone mounted to the dashboard of his car.

“After 17 years in this job I thought I had seen it all,” Sergeant James Robbins said.

“This sort of behaviour simply isn’t acceptable when behind the wheel."

Due to the darkness around the vehicle, an off duty police officer driving next to the car could see what the phone was broadcasting and took down the details of the driver.

After being spoken to by police yesterday afternoon, he confessed.

The man received two infringement notices – one for using a mobile phone while driving ($466 and four demerit points) and one for offensive behaviour ($622).

“We want everyone to be sitting at Christmas lunch this year and silly behaviour like this is all too often means there will be an empty seat and another life lost”.
