A spear-fisherman has been hit in the torso by a spear at Shoal Bay, north of Newcastle.
He has since been flown to John Hunter Hospital to receive treatment.
He is currently in a stable condition after being treated on scene by paramedics.
A call was placed to paramedics at 1.15pm to attend the scene.
He is believed to be in his 20s.
