Paddle boarding pair film up close moment with great white sharks

Some people will clearly do anything for a selfie.

Two men claim to have filmed themselves paddle boarding alongside great white sharks off the coast of California.

Since the video was uploaded to YouTube on Saturday it’s gained plenty of attention for the risky act.

In it you can see Hemerick and Joseph Trucksess of San Clemente move slowly on their paddle boards alongside juvenile great white sharks.

Hemerick captures the moment on his GoPro, filming the sharks both above and below the water, getting within inches of them.

He uploaded a similar video on June 19 filming sharks in the same area.

The Orange County Register reports about 10 great whites have been sighted in waters near the beach in the last few months.

Experts say the young sharks were feeding on stingrays and it was unlikely they would attack humans.

However lifeguards were advised to inform beach goers not to go near the sharks.
