Missing man Shaun Cousins found alive and well

A Tasmanian man missing for almost two weeks has been found alive and well.

Shaun Cousins, 43, from Mount Nelson had been missing since November 9.

There had been extensive ground and air searches for the man.

Senior Sergeant Natasha Leaman said police responded to a call just before 2:00pm from a member of the public, who reported seeing a man matching Mr Cousins' description.

"Mr Cousins was located at Olinda Grove, Mount Nelson, near the Fire Station," she said.

"He has spoken to his mother and his wife, and they had an opportunity to see him prior to (him) being medically assessed.

"Family and friends of Mr Cousins are very relieved that he has been found safe, after being missing for over 10 days."

An earlier statement said the father of two may have disappeared after realising he was part of a police investigation.

Senior Sergeant Natasha Leaman confirmed police wanted to speak to Mr Cousins, but would not comment on the nature of that investigation.
