Woman charged over NSW stabbing murder

A woman has been charged over the stabbing murder of a man on the NSW Central Coast.

Police says the 50-year-old man died from stab wounds on Monday at a Hood Street home at Ettalong Beach.

A man and a woman were arrested in Woy Woy following a police chase on Tuesday.

A 44-year-old woman was charged with murder and a 38-year-old man was charged under Skye's law for sparking a police pursuit.

Both were refused bail to appear at Gosford local court on Wednesday.

A farmer arrested for shooting dead a suspected burglar in a remote farmhouse has been named locally as Robert Lomas. He was today (Fri) still being quizzed by detectives over the shooting of Marcus Smith, 19, during the second break-in at his property in less than 10 hours. Smith's mum Kerry, 51, uploaded a photo of her with her son on social media which prompted an outpouring of sympathy from well-wishers. One wrote: "I’m truly heartbroken. Sending love to you all." Another said: "We are so shocked and so heartbroken, nothing can express how deeply sorry we are."
