Man rescued from WA cliff The Gap

A man who fell from a natural bridge between cliffs on Western Australia's southern coast is being treated by medical personnel.

An alarm was raised at about 7.30am that a man had fallen from the Natural Bridge at the treacherous The Gap in Albany.

Department of Fire and Emergency Services staff have abseiled down to the man, who is on a rock at the bottom with a suspected broken leg.

He is conscious and talking.

A St John Ambulance spokesman said DFES staff were treating the man and the RAC Rescue chopper had arrived.

He said reports a second person had fallen from the bridge were incorrect.
