Man disqualified until 2090 still driving

An elderly NSW man has appeared in court more than 28 times and is disqualified from driving until 2090.

But that hasn't stopped him from getting behind the wheel again.

Nathaniel Samuel Barker, 76, was driving in the inner-Sydney suburb of Alexandria in March when highway patrol spotted him doing two left turns without indicating.

When they stopped him and asked him why he didn't use his indicators, court facts state that he replied: "I was just driving around the corner".

He then told them he was disqualified from driving but was just trying to help his partner fill the car with petrol.

Barker, who has pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified, said nothing during a brief court appearance at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday.

He will be sentenced in August.
