A homeless man who was beaten by a policeman in Adelaide late last year has gone on trial accused of assaulting the officer.
7News captured video of the incident in Whitmore Square in December.
It shows officer Matthew Schwarz subduing Shaun Jones and his carer, Chris Mackie, with his baton.
Both men have been charged with resisting arrest, assault and disorderly behaviour.
Jones’ trial started this morning, while Mackie’s is yet to face court.
