Police clear Ben Te'o of Katie Lewis assault

Queensland Maroons star Ben Te'o will not be charged by Queensland Police over allegations he assaulted a woman at a Brisbane unit in May this year.

The South Sydney enforcer was accused of fracturing the eye socket of Sydney woman Katie Lewis at Broncos player Corey Norman's Ashgrove apartment.

Newcastle Knights fullback Darius Boyd was also with Teo'o and Norman at the time of the alleged incident.

It is believed Police did not have sufficient evidence to charge Te'o, after recording statements from all four parties over the events.

Miss Lewis is understood to be shocked at the findings, but would be pursuing other means of action.

Te'o has refused to comment.
