Boycott overpriced fuel: RAA

The RAA is urging motorists to boycott overpriced petrol, saying Adelaide retailers have been slow to pass on price cuts.

It said the current 13-day cycle means prices should be in the $1.40s, but some service stations are bucking the trend.

“Adelaide retailers are only dropping their price at half the normal rate,” Chris West fromn the RAA said.

“That’s why we’re still seeing prices at the $1.50 level.

“If motorists see prices this high before Tuesday, these retailers are trying to double dip at motorist’s expense and should be avoided.”

The RAA is advising motorists to fill up at $1.48 per litre or lower. It also said prices shouldn’t rise again until Tuesday.
