Four fire crews, ambulance and police were at the scene, where they could hear the woman yelling out for help, trapped in a labyrinth of tunnels beneath a housing estate.

Neighbours heard the woman's previous cries for help at approximately 3:00am.

The woman was not injured despite the claustrophobic experience in a tunnel that was just 300mm wide at times.

"Definitely thank you for helping me," the woman said of those responsible for rescuing her.
