'It's a horrendous crime': Young woman lured into public toilet before 15-minute assault

Victoria Police are hunting for a man who allegedly lured a 27-year-old woman into a public toilet in Melbourne before sexually assaulting her for 15 minutes.

The woman was reportedly asleep on a park bench in St Kilda at about 8:30pm on Friday 15 February when she was woken by an unknown man sitting next to her.

Police allege a brief discussion was had before a 'serious sexual offence' took place at a nearby public bathroom.

"It's a horrendous crime... she underwent this traumatic experience for about 10 to 15 minutes," a spokesman told the Mail Online.

"She is trying to cope with the situation."

It shows the alleged attacker, who is believed to be in his 30s or 40s and has been described by the victim as being around 172 centimetres tall with a solid build, leaning on the counter while removing his glasses.
