Filipino divers fail spectacularly
The Filipino diving team became the lovable underdogs of the South East Asian games after they both failed to score a point.
The country’s best divers, John Elmerson Fabriga and John David Pahoyos, both flopped into the water and received humiliating zeros.
The video shows Fabriga step to the 3m springboard final. After failing a midair turn, he lands in the water on his back. The splash from the impact is so big; it appears to wet some of the spectators.
Fabriga was awarded zeros by all seven judges. Next, John David Pahoyo, steps onto the board.
Pahoyo failed the 3.0 difficulty dive, and landed in the water knees first. The judges also awarded Pahoyo a score of zero.
