Desperate plea after baby dumped at bus stop with umbilical cord still attached

Police have released a photo of a newborn baby in a plea to find her parents after she was found abandoned at a bus stop with her umbilical cord still attached.

The little girl was in a critical condition when she was spotted by a man driving past the bus stop in North Wales at 7.15am last Tuesday.

She spent a week in hospital and on Tuesday, police and hospital staff released a video urging the mother to come forward.

"We think that you placed your daughter somewhere she would be found and that's why it's important that you know that your daughter is making good progress," Helen Douglas from North Wales Police said in the video.

"Your daughter needs a name and we want you to tell us what you want for her."

A midwife at the hospital where the little girl is being held said the mother may be in need of medical attention.

"We'd like to talk to you about the future of your daughter," Officer Douglas said.

Daniel Braxton, 35, said the little girl was naked and lifeless when he drove past and saw her in the bus stop, Metro reported.

"I had a dressing gown in the car and ran to grab that, wrapped the baby up, gave her some good hard rubs on the chest and the head," he said.

"It was just a case of as soon as I saw her lying there, her naked little body just left on cold concrete, I knew I had to do something."
