Sweetheart deal: Man proposes to fiancé and 'best sister' with Down Syndrome

Two inseparable sisters are preparing for a very special day after a romantic US man made not one but two proposals.

When Ashley Schaus met Will Seaton, she told him that she and her sister Hannah, who has Down syndrome, are a package deal.

So after a seven year relationship Will was ready to pop the big question to the 23-year-old but was quick to make sure he honoured the deal that he made in 2010.

Surrounded by spring flowers near their Indiana home, Will got down on one knee and asked Ashley to marry him.

However there wasn’t only one ring in his pocket.

"Before you knew it, he was down on one knee, asking her [Hannah] to be his best friend forever," Ashley told FOX 5.

"It was the sweetest moment in my whole life watching Hannah be so happy and feeling so special.

"When Hannah was born and they told me I had a sister, I never would've thought that I would've shared my wedding day, my engagement, and my whole life with her, but now, under all the circumstances, I wouldn't have it any other way," Ashley said.

The pair is now set to tie the knot on October 7 with Hannah right by their side.

"She's more than just a bridesmaid, she's practically one-third of the wedding," Ashley, Hannah is going to be the 'best sister.'"

"We may not know what the future will hold for Hannah, and I hope that someday she finds a sweet boy, but for now, I am so thankful she got to enjoy that moment that every girl dreams about," Ashley said.
