Schapelle Corby could return to locked-up living, on reality TV: reports

She's only been home for two weeks but convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby is reportedly already planning on leaving Australia for the UK, to appear on reality TV program Big Brother.

It's understood the 39-year-old has already signed a deal with the show's producers, News Corp reports.

She's also reportedly applied for a British working visa - something that could be denied as a result of her criminal record.

It's understood the production company behind the reality program also helped fund Corby's expensive return home, including the heavy security.

It's believed the production company bosses were also behind her social media debut on Instagram, encouraging her to have an online prescence.

However, her sister, Mercedes Corby, has come out and denied that claims.

"Haha. What a load of crap this is," she wrote.

"It's just BS reporting again. Who are these made up sources close to the family I wonder, spinning all these quotes?"

Endemol Shine’s London communications boss Rae Langford wouldn’t confirm if Corby was to join the show.

“We don’t comment on speculation," Lanford said.

Despite this, a British TV source said producers are preparing to launch Gold Coast beautician's overseas career.

It's understood there are plans to market her as “Australia’s most famous drug smuggler” when the show airs live in July.

Speculation has been rife since her return to Australia as to what her next step would be - whether that would be a book deal or even appearing on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

“One thing people don’t know about Schapelle is she has a very witty and sharp sense of humour and the producers think British viewers will really take to her,” a source said.

“Australians have a long tradition of finding a receptive market in the UK and there’s hope she could make a real name for herself.”

Rumoured contestants for the new series of Big Brother include pop singer Sinita, wrestling star Hulk Hogan and porn actor Gemma Massey.
