Shock pictures of near misses with Gold Coast trams
CCTV vision has been released of pedestrians' frightening near misses with trams on the Gold Coast.
The footage, released by Queensland police, shows pedestrians walking and running across tracks in front of oncoming trams.
Many people appear completely oblivious of the fast-moving machines.
In one instance, a woman can be seen going to cross the tracks, not-noticing a 60-tonne tram is rumbles along the tracks.
She only realises as the tram rushes past her, stepping back at the last second and narrowly avoiding would could have been a fatal collision.
The vision has been released as as part of road safety week.
While there are many tragedies on our roads, some users miraculously cheat death, as these extraordinary videos show.
Truckie averts disaster

Dash cam vision shows the truck driver swerve their semi-trailer into oncoming traffic to avoid running over an elderly man that was lying right in the middle of the road.
While the front of the semi-trailer steers clear of the oncoming traffic, the rear end nearly swipes a white vehicle completely off the road.
Luckily the truck driver recovers just it time, and the white vehicle and the semi-trailer avoid a collision.
Both drivers then come to a stop, no doubt in shock at their terrifying near miss.
Cyclists cheat death in truck crash
Two cyclists cheated death after a pair of trucks crashed right next to them as they rode along the side of a road.
The footage was posted online and is believed to have originated in Russia.
The dash cam footage shows a truck lose control of its rear, which then strays into the path of another on-going vehicle.
The impact showers the two riders in debris as they disappear from view as the wreckage appears to engulf them both. Miraculously, though, the pair remain upright and appear unscathed as the dust settles around them.
