Margaret River's fourth annual winter solstice celebration will be held at Tingrith Meeting House this Sunday night.

The solstice is commemorated on the shortest day of the year and celebrates the changing seasons, according to organiser and Shire of Augusta-Margaret River councillor Felicity Haynes.

"We have a huge bonfire," she said.

"We light the fire as soon as it gets dark."

Cr Haynes said non-alcoholic mulled wine and pumpkin soup would be available and she encouraged visitors to bring a share plate.

She said a wicker man would also be burned.

Cr Haynes said the evening would be "very relaxed", with local musicians and a fire dance from entertainer Johnno B Biscuit.

She said all were welcome to the celebration at 24 Hobson Road in Osmington with a 5.30pm start.
