Kwinana Golf Club ladies' pennants team have broken a 24- year lull, taking home the Ladies Outer Suburban Pennant Championship trophy.

The team took out the competition for the first time since 1991, putting their success down to having an enthusiastic team.

Team captain Helen Edwards said the team did exceptionally well winning all seven games in the eight-week rotation.

"We feel ecstatic and it is very special to win after more than two decades," she said.

"We have a great team with really enthusiastic players."

Coming up against Melville, Mandurah, Rockingham, Pinjarra, Gosnells, Hartfield and Dawesville in the competition, Edwards said it was impressive they took the trophy home.

"We are only a small club in comparison to who we played," she said.

Edwards said the group enjoyed playing pennants because it was a team game with camaraderie and lots of fun.

"We all play for each other," she said.

The competition started in March and ended in May.

Edwards said the Club was continuing to grow and newcomers were always welcome.

She encouraged women to go down to the club to have a go.
