UPDATE 2.20pm: Shares in ASG Group were higher after the IT services company announced it had won a $15 million contract with Synergy.

The three-year, full managed services contract, which excludes special projects, will have options to extend to 2021.

ASG won the contract following the amalgamation of Verve Energy and Synergy.

ASG chief executive Geoff Lewis said the win recognised the high standard of project and managed services work the company had delivered to Verve Energy since 2010.

In addition to the managed services contract, Synergy and ASG are in discussions regarding extending the scope of services to include a consolidation of the utility’s current data centre footprint.

ASG said it was also in exclusive negotiations for opportunities in excess of $80 million, all of which were expected to be concluded within the next three months.

Shares in ASG were up 7.5 cents, or 9.74 per cent, to 84.5 cents at the close.
