Action-packed holiday fun

The Mary Davies Library and Community Centre will be packed with fun these school holidays, according to library co-ordinator Caroline Jones.

Giant games will offer a big challenge for children three and over on April 10 from 10am to 11am.

"Bring your friends along and work your mind and body by playing our giant noughts and crosses, dominoes, pick-up sticks, Scrabble and blow-up bowling," Mrs Jones said.

On April 14, the Children's Secondhand Toy Market will herald a day of fun.

"From 10am to noon, kids will have the chance to sell toys they no longer want to make some pocket money to buy new ones," she said.

From 3.30pm to 4.30pm, primary school-aged children are encouraged to partake in the Bookstars Club, which promotes reading.

Mrs Jones said the final day of the school holiday program on April 17 was a highlight.

"In the afternoon, children will get the chance to learn how to create cartoons on iPads, a skill they can show schoolmates when term resumes," she said.

To round out the night, children aged four to eight are invited to play games and dance the night away at the centre's disco.

Food and drinks will be available from the canteen to raise money for St Bernadette's Catholic Primary School's P&C.

Mrs Jones said children were welcome to try the scavenger hunt throughout the school holidays for a chance to win a prize.

She said bookings were essential and encouraged parents to email mdlcccontact@rockingham.wa.gov .au or call 9591 0800.
